Don Brewster (1954 – 2024) A Hero’s Tribute

There are still heroes in our generation. There are still men and women who spurn the status quo and show us the good that humans are still capable of.

Through their life together and the founding of Agape International Missions, Don and Bridget Brewster have rescued thousands of girls from the cruelest forms of sex trafficking, provided deep healing and recovery for them, prosecuted their abusers, and have seen countless victims become abolitionists and advocates for others. Victims turned advocates is one of the most powerful forces in our world.

Through AIM Don and Bridget have transformed individuals, families, communities, cities, and even improved the international safety ratings for the entire country of Cambodia. Don will be missed daily around the world.

I first encountered Don Brewster through an awareness-raising event at our church. We were showing a film that exposed the evils and reality of human sex trafficking, and when Don was featured on the film for his efforts in Cambodia, Jessica and I loved him immediately. From the moment he began speaking on the screen, we knew that our hearts were united with him and Bridget.

We reached out to them, traveled to Northern California to join them for dinner, began supporting their work through AIM, hosted them to speak multiple times at our church, and were honored to be welcomed by them as friends. In 2016, I visited Don and Bridget in Svay Pak and Phnom Penh, Cambodia and saw firsthand their restoration houses, counseling centers, SWAT headquarters, medical clinics, church facilities, and their soon-to-be-built school (which now serves hundreds of students and families).

Don and Bridget modeled courage, humility, and effervescent love. They reminded me of what matters most, and how meaningful an ordinary, human life can be when it is fully dedicated to serving God and others, despite the crushing cost along the way.

Jessica and I loved them the moment we met them, we love them even more today, and our hearts are broken by Don’s passing. We are forever supporters of AIM and will always adore the Brewsters. Thank you, Don, Bridget, Dominick, and the entire AIM family for changing my life for the good and for tirelessly calling me toward the good. I am gratefully indebted and I love you all.
